We are a 124 place nursery dedicated to meeting the individual needs of children from 3 months to five years old. We aim to create a warm and caring environment in which children are able to make the transition from home to school securely and where they will be happy, confident and enjoy the company of others. The nursery supports children with learning difficulties and/ or disabilities. English as an additional language (EAL): Multi Lingual Languages are spoken throughout the Nursery. To support the individual children and families Nursery staff, friends and families support these families and their children through vocal translations.
Our high staff to child ratio enables the children to receive individual attention and develop at their own pace. They are encouraged to explore the wonders of language, science, numeracy and all aspects of the world around them. They learn through constructive and imaginative play, creative art, music and movement. We integrate themes and we build on the children’s interests throughout the year which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We provide a whole range of learning opportunities.
We have three spacious and well-equipped classrooms and dedicated outside play areas and loft area which includes 7 learning areas with, ride-on toys, slides and a sand and water play, a mud kitchen and areas for planting and growing flowers and vegetables, drawing and painting areas and a range of natural resources. As learning is experimental, we supplement our nursery-based work with outings to farms, the local parks, libraries and other local places of interest.
Angel Place Nursery welcomes children of all faiths, while being centred on the values and traditions. We celebrate various cultural festivals.
Staff maintain a close relationship with parents and carers and we are always available to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress. The parents’ meet with their child’s key person regularly; we hold formal parents’ evenings and take great care in keeping a detailed observations and assessments and including pictorial records of the children’s work and achievements on the Nursery’s electronic Eylog system.
